Founder and CEO of PreMedley, Evan Botterman knows that frustration firsthand.
After several years in the corporate world following college, he decided to pursue medicine as a nontraditional applicant. But when he began preparing for the MCAT, he was overwhelmed by an industry that suggested success meant paying $5,000 or more for limited tutoring support.
"I raised my MCAT score by 23 points, from a 494 [a 28th percentile score] to a 517 [a 94th percentile score]. I know what it takes for other students to do the same," says Evan.
What he realized was simple: most students do not lack intelligence or work ethic. They lack structure, strategy, and honest guidance.
That insight led to the creation of PreMedley.
The company was built around a clear belief: strong MCAT prep and medical school application guidance should be effective and affordable.
Always-On Learning
PreMedley provides premeds with around-the-clock support. Students have access to roughly 20 hours of live MCAT tutoring and application guidance each week, led by instructors who have excelled in the process themselves. The program follows a clear progression: build fundamentals, apply them through active practice and passage analysis, then sharpen skills with AAMC-style questions that mirror the real exam.
This is not passive video content or occasional office hours. Sessions are live, interactive, and demanding, designed to train students to think the way the MCAT actually tests, not the way textbooks explain. Outside of the live sessions, students get access to a 24/7 chat community, where they get targeted guidance from mentors and build connections with peers.
The results are hard to argue with.
One student, Ciara, entered PreMedley with a diagnostic score of 491 and, after several months of guided study, earned a 519, a 28-point jump that placed her in the 97th percentile of test takers. She is now a medical student and has returned to the community as a mentor, helping others replicate that success.

Another student, Alicia, saw a 12-point MCAT increase and went on to earn 15 medical school acceptances, including four full-tuition scholarships at some of the most competitive med schools in the U.S. She now attends a top-ranked medical school on a full ride, and provides guidance to PreMedley students as an application coach.

An Integrated Approach to Premed Success
PreMedley’s support starts well before test day. The team guides students through undergraduate course planning, clinical experience, and physician shadowing. It continues through the entire application cycle, including help with personal statements, primary and secondary applications, prep for the CASPer and PREview situational judgement tests, and mock interviews, all included. Premed guidance, MCAT prep, applications, and interviews are treated as one connected process, not a collection of disconnected services.
Having now supported more than 4,000 students, PreMedley’s growth has been fueled less by marketing and more by trust.
