Stephanie Harper, Academic Director & Breanna Warburton, Academic DirectorAt the heart of Parker Core Knowledge is a comprehensive Core Knowledge curriculum designed to build deep understanding across subjects and grade levels. Through literature, history, science, mathematics and the arts, students develop broad cultural literacy and a rich understanding of the ideas, events and discoveries that have shaped the world. This intentional, knowledge-based approach helps students make meaningful connections across disciplines and prepares them for future academic success.
Belief in What Students Can Achieve
Families who choose Parker Core Knowledge become part of a community united by high expectations and a shared commitment to student growth. Parents, teachers and school leaders work together to create an environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, embrace challenges and pursue excellence.
The school’s commitment to academic excellence begins with a belief in what students can achieve. Rather than lowering expectations, Parker Core Knowledge challenges students to engage with demanding content, think critically and persevere through difficult work. Educators provide the guidance and support students need while encouraging them to stretch beyond what they may believe they are capable of achieving.
“We believe our students are capable of extraordinary things,” says Stephanie Harper, academic director. “When we combine high expectations with strong support, students consistently rise to challenges and often exceed what they thought was possible.”
Character is a Part of Learning
Alongside rigorous academics, Parker Core Knowledge recognizes that the habits and behaviors students develop during their school years contribute significantly to their long-term success. Character education is woven into daily school life, helping students learn how to collaborate effectively, make thoughtful decisions and contribute positively to their communities.
Respect, integrity, responsibility and kindness are reinforced through classroom experiences, school-wide initiatives and everyday interactions. A dedicated character coach works alongside teachers to support students as they develop these important life skills, while assemblies and classroom discussions provide opportunities to explore qualities like perseverance, empathy and courage.

When we combine high expectations with strong support, students consistently rise to challenges and often exceed what they thought was possible.
Importantly, these lessons are often connected to academic learning. As students study historical figures, scientific breakthroughs, literature and works of art, they examine the decisions, challenges and character traits that shape outcomes and influence society. These conversations with students deepen their understanding of the content while encouraging them to consider how their own actions affect the world around them.
“We are a school of character, and we want to build really strong character in our students,” says Breanna Warburton, academic director. “Character education as a whole starts at the core belief that every adult in this building is an educator of character, and it is the responsibility of every adult to cultivate character in our students.”
Looking Ahead
As technology, learning environments and student needs continue to evolve, Parker Core Knowledge remains grounded in the principles that have guided the school for decades: academic rigor, cultural literacy, purposeful effort, strong family partnerships and unwavering belief in student potential.
By combining a challenging academic experience with a supportive community and meaningful opportunities for personal growth, Parker Core Knowledge prepares students for success both in school and beyond. The result is an environment where students build knowledge, develop confidence, strengthen character and discover what they are capable of achieving.
