It’s a challenge Dr. J. Taylor Tribble knows intimately. His path—from international volunteer to classroom teaching and educational leadership—ultimately led to the creation of EduSkills, a digital platform designed to bring personalization to the data management process for multilingual learners.
From Global Insight to Local Impact
In the mid-1990s, a young Dr. Tribble traveled to northern India to volunteer with the Ladakh Project, supporting Tibetan refugees. Immersed in cross-cultural service, he witnessed firsthand how empathy and understanding can bridge even the widest divides. Over the next decade, he traveled and volunteered in more than 20 countries, deepening his appreciation for language and culture.
“Those years abroad left an indelible mark on me,” he reflects. “They ignited a lifelong commitment to supporting individuals navigating language and cultural transitions—especially in our public school systems.”
Back in Oklahoma, Dr. Tribble carried that global perspective into his roles as an EL teacher and school administrator. But like many educators, he found that compliance requirements and paperwork often left little time for meaningful student engagement. Late nights were consumed by paperwork rather than planning instruction.
This disconnect became the catalyst for EduSkills, a technology company created to streamline compliance and empower educators working with multilingual learners.
A Platform Designed for Educators
EduSkills provides districts with a centralized system to manage multilingual learner data from the moment a student enrolls. The platform captures and connects critical information: home language surveys, language proficiency assessment scores, parent communications, and individualized language acquisition plans. It then converts this data into actionable, standards-aligned strategies in core content areas such as math, science, social studies, and language arts.

Instead of navigating complicated spreadsheets or manually piecing together student profiles, teachers are equipped with real-time tracking tools that allow for dynamic monitoring of progress and compliance, ensuring that no student falls through the cracks.
EduSkills supports district onboarding with a collaborative, educator-first approach. Templates, automation, and state-specific customization reduce the technical burden while ensuring full alignment with federal and state requirements. Importantly, many EduSkills team members have a strong background in K–12 education, enabling them to easily collaborate with district teams on a shared vision.
Results That Matter
The impact is not just theoretical. In one small district, for example, EduSkills successfully uncovered more than 100 eligible students—unlocking approximately $100,000 in additional state funding. Similarly, in other larger districts, the EduSkills team has increased identification of hundreds of unidentified students, leading to hundreds of thousands of additional funding. These districts quickly transitioned fully to EduSkills, citing both the effectiveness of the identification process and the usability of the platform to support classroom instruction.
Putting the customer before profit is the ethos that continues to guide its growth. Today, EduSkills partners with leading EdTech vendors to integrate curriculum and assessment data into a unified dashboard. A newly launched family engagement app provides parents with video resources, translated guides, and two-way messaging with teachers—supporting meaningful school-home collaboration in families’ home languages.

EduSkills has proven that technology grounded in empathy can drive transformation—not only in compliance processes, but in classroom culture. When multilingual learner data is used for more than just reporting, educators are freed to do what they do best: teach, inspire, and connect.
