Fernando Altamura serves as a Senior Faculty Lecturer at McGill University's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, where he also directs the Freshman Program. His path to academia has been anything but conventional. Before building a career in biological sciences and pharmacology, he trained as a classical musician. He now uses that multidisciplinary expertise to help first-year STEM students gain confidence by pushing them to comprehend concepts thoroughly rather than just memorize them.
