Learning comes to life through hands-on opportunities. Students participate in activities such as the “seed-to-harvest” gardening project, robotics, and school-wide fundraising initiatives that cultivate teamwork, school spirit, and generosity. Guest authors read to students, and older students hear from speakers, including representatives from Samaritan’s Purse, to understand how compassion and service can change lives.
The school also hosts prayerful gift-packing events, where students thoughtfully prepare boxes for children in need and reflect on what might bring each recipient joy. After-school programs, such as music, chess, and taekwondo, help students develop patience, resilience and creativity.

Personalized Learning and Experiential Growth
BCCA remains committed to personalized learning, maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratio of five to one throughout the school to ensure every child receives individualized attention and support. Teachers monitor each child’s academic progress, social-emotional adjustment, and daily well-being, ensuring students feel seen, heard, and valued. Advanced learners are offered more challenging material to help them reach their full potential.
The school’s early childhood program is designed to facilitate a smooth transition into learning. Dedicated nap rooms, kindergarten readiness programs, and age-specific playgrounds support comfort, routine, and confidence. One preschool student, Cristina, was understandably anxious on her first day of school, but, surrounded by the warmth and encouragement of her teachers and friends, she quickly found confidence and a sense of belonging. By the end of the day, her fears had melted away, and when she returned the next morning, she ran into her classroom with a huge smile on her face. This serves as an example of the nurturing environment BCCA strives to provide.

A Community That Shapes Lifelong Connections
Family partnership and community connection are central to school life. Teachers send handwritten welcome cards to every student and family before the start of the school year. Each morning, administrators greet students and their families from their cars and escort preschoolers to their classes, setting a warm and reassuring tone for the day.
This enduring spirit of faith and care is reflected in the staff, such as the librarian Mrs. Zuber, who recently retired after serving for 45 years, sharing the love of Christ and leading more than 300 children to the Lord. Together, parents and school leaders continue this tradition through monthly prayer meetings that nurture children's spiritual and emotional growth. Ongoing initiatives include collaboration with community gardens and plans to expand involvement with local hospitals and professionals to extend learning beyond the classroom.
Its culture inspires many graduates to return. Approximately 20 percent of current staff are alumni, including athletic coaches, teachers, and administrators. One example is Naomi Sing-Benco, who attended BCCA from age three through high school. After earning dual degrees in fashion and business, she returned to serve the school she calls her “happy place,” contributing her professional expertise and student perspective.
